Election of Precinct Committee  People:  Precinct committee  representatives are elected at the Precinct Caucuses.  Vacancies that occur may be filled by  the Central Committee.   At the March  meeting Larry Kness was elected to fill a vacancy in Clinton 3-2.
Sharon Reed was chosen an alternate in Clinton 2-1. People nominated to fill vacancies who  will be voted on at the April meeting are: Dick Kissack - Clinton 3-2, Dave  Keefer - Clinton3-1 and Rita Hart - SpringRockTownship.  The Precinct Captains who serve on the  Central Committee ensure that we maintain a strong Party organization between  elections.   We appreciate their  faithful service.
WHAT IS A LIBERAL?  I have  always prided myself on being a liberal.  Because Karl Rove and his Republican henchmen continuously attack us  without mercy for having liberal values, I decided to check an authority -  Webster's New Universal Unabridged Dictionary.  This is how Webster describes a  liberal:
Pertaining to a freeman.
One who is free to give or  bestow.
Giving generously as a  donor.
A person who is broadminded.
A person who is not narrow or  bigoted.
Pertaining to democratic forms of government as  distinguished from monarchy or aristocracies.
A person who favors reform or progress - a  progressive.
A person who tends toward personal freedom for the  individual.
A person who isn't mean  spirited.
Therefore, those who attack us for being liberal must  favor serfdom or slavery for the masses and prefer monarchial or aristocratic  forms of government.  They must be  stingy, narrow minded, bigoted, mean spirited and be opposed to reform and  freedom for the individual.  By so  vehemently opposing liberal values the Bush Administration has done a far better  job of describing their own values then we could  do.
"One of the Democrats 'problems is that they have allowed  other people to redefine their best qualities.  Talk shows have demonized the word  liberal so that no one knows what it means anymore.   Jesus' teachings were the same as  traditional Democratic values.  The  Democrats need to begin a gradual campaign to bring out the positive side of the  many things they stand for."  (Michael T. Field in U.S. News and World Report, March 14,  2005.)
